Our Responsible Gaming Code of Conduct
theScore Bet is committed to providing gaming in a responsible manner. We want players to have fun and enjoy our services safely.
While most of our players enjoy gaming as a form of entertainment, we realize that some may experience problems. We are committed to promoting responsible gaming and protecting players (and others affected by their behavior) when gaming stops being fun.
We use a variety of approaches to promote responsible gaming, including employee training (so that our staff can better identify and manage problem gaming issues when they arise), customer awareness campaigns, self-exclusion and financial restriction programs, and ongoing policy monitoring and review so that we can gauge the effectiveness of our responsible gaming programs.
Our Pledge to Players
- We will promote responsible gaming
- We will provide safe gaming tools and resources
- We will advertise responsibly
- We will prevent underage gaming
Recognizing the Problem
Recognizing that you may have a gaming problem is the first step to regaining control.
According to the National Council on Problem Gambling, problem gaming, or gaming addiction, includes all gaming behavior patterns that compromise, disrupt or damage personal, family or vocational pursuits. An increasing preoccupation with gaming, a need to bet more money more frequently, restlessness or irritability when attempting to stop, ‘chasing’ losses to recoup funds, and loss of control over gaming behavior in spite of serious and negative consequences, are all signs of problem gaming. In extreme cases, problem gaming can result in financial ruin, legal problems, loss of career and family, or even suicide.
Employee Training Programs and Resources
Our employees must participate in responsible gaming and problem gaming awareness training programs. They are trained to be aware of, and offer assistance to, players seeking help with problem gaming matters. theScore Bet’s Compliance Officer (or a professional third-party specializing in the field) is responsible for training employees and ensuring they have the resources necessary to identify, prevent and minimize the risks of harm to our players. Part of responsible gaming training includes teaching employees to identify warning signs of problem gaming and what to do when risks are identified. This training helps us achieve a unified approach to responsible gaming that is shared across all departments at theScore Bet.
Dedicated Responsible Gaming Team
theScore Bet’s Compliance Department oversees, guides and establishes responsible gaming initiatives, policies and procedures, with reference to state, provincial and national responsible gaming standards.
Preventing Underage Gaming
theScore Bet is designed to appeal to, and be used by, adults. We actively discourage underage individuals from playing with us. Our players are required to undergo a rigorous KYC process before they can open account and make bets in order to prevent underage gaming on theScore Bet.
